Hartley Footpaths group
We meet on the second Sunday of every month and, if enough people are interested, on the third Wednesday of every month for circular walks. We have home-start walks (meeting at 10.30 at Hartley War memorial in Ash Road) and away walks (where we meet up at 11am at various Kentish locations, sharing cars where possible). We normally get back to Hartley at about 3pm or 3.30pm, wherever we start from, including a pub refreshment stop at something over half way round the walk. Our walks are approximately 6 miles on average, though we occasionally do longer walks (e.g. the circular tour of Bewl Water).
All walks are open to anyone and are free (you just need to pay for your pub lunch) and designed to be easy for any averagely fit person to manage. Proper walking gear is recommended. Children welcome. Numbers vary from 4 people to 12 each month.
Our regular leader is unwell and members of the group are taking it in turns to organise walks so there is currently no permanent contact person but anyone interested in joining a walk is welcome to contact Margaret Bown on email or 07801 416307.
